Research Fellow
I was born in 1982 in Nijmegen. After a Bachelor in Information and Communication Technology (B.ICT) at the University of Applied Sciences Arnhem and Nijmegen I obtained a masters (MSc) in Media Technology at Leiden University. Currently, I work at the faculty of Communication and Journalism at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, where I am connected to the research group "Crossmedia Business" as a researcher.
I have started a PhD on value creation in Social Media in April 2010. The aim of this research is to model the different monetary and non monetary value chains that exist in the social media ecosystem, and apply that model in specific sectors. I am also interested in (digital) cultural heritage and developed the "Ik weet wat dit is" application in the PACE project. I teach courses in Web Design, Object-oriented Design, Computer Programming and Research for the study Digital Communication, and have supervised research of international students.
In my spare time I enjoy practicing aikido, Mexican food and learning Spanish.
