Dennis Piekema

Graduate Student

After a year of working numerous jobs I thought it was time for a new beginning. I always had a talent working with computers and people, so in 2007 I started to study Digital Communications at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. This is my final year. Crossmedialab has given me the opportunity to graduate in the field of augmented reality and its effects on user experiences in unique locations.

Back in 2006 I graduated as Game Developer at ROC A12, Ede. Before that I worked and was trained as Junior Software Engineer. During my current studies I also worked on few projects involving this technology and the use of mobile devices. As a Minor I choose Advertising. This involved many subjects in media-psychology, marketing & communication, copywriting and global marketing & advertising.

With this knowledge, and the many interests I have involving the next step in communicating and technology, I will develop a new mobile platform using augmented reality. I hope that my project will have an impact in user experiences and create a new way of communicating your story to people in unique locations.
