Manon Jacobs
Graduate Student
In 2007 I began my studies in International Communication and Media. I chose the international path, because I had spent 5 months in Annecy, France partaking in a French language course. I met many different people, from many different backgrounds and cultures. This made me realize I was very interested in the more global side of many matters; I wanted a broader view, and to learn more about communications across different countries and cultures.
During my third year at the Utrecht university of applied sciences, I went abroad for both my minor and my internship. In September of 2009 I started my placement at Addison Corporate Communications, in London. I mostly worked with the Account Management department, and supported any other department where I could. When I left Addison, I was content with how much I had learned about working with clients and internal communications. In February of 2010 I went to Vienna, for a minor at the Fachhochschule Wien. There, I took courses ranging from Public Relations and Crisis Management to Ethics.
In my spare time, I tend to relief stress and generally enjoy myself playing video games, be it on my gaming console (PS3) or my computer. I’m also a huge music fan, and try to attend as many festivals and concerts as I can afford. These two hobbies tie together much of the reason of why applied to the Audio Design project. In this project, I will look into the possibilities in how people’s perception of a physical space can be influenced through sounds and music. I hope that both my experience and my hobbies can contribute to a successful concept.
