Benjamin Groenewoud

Graduate Student

In 2007 I started studying Business Communication at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht). I am currently graduating at the Crossmedialab on the subject of blended learning. I have always been interested in education and that’s also why I’m a member of the Study Committee.

During my third year I did my internship at the Internet Desk of NCRV Netwerk, a Dutch news television program that unfortunately doesn’t exist anymore. In those six months I learnt a lot about (online) journalism in a very dynamic atmosphere and was given the opportunity to practise my writing and video editing skills. 

Not a few lectors, but also the members of the Study Committee, have noticed that lessons at the university could be given in a smarter and much more efficient manner. That’s the reason I think it’s quite interesting to research the effects of blended learning. I am curious what kind of blended learning tools can contribute to the quality and convenience of education. Perhaps it could even be possible to increase students' motivation if they can study anywhere and at any time? We’ll see!
