Social Media

To share experiences, cooperate on knowledge, discuss on ideologies and to find other people are processes from the physical world that digitize rapidly. As a result the media creation chain changed enormous by this and is now accessible by anyone. A media consumer can also be a media producer. Apart from the Internet as a distribution channel the technological revolution of the Web 2.0 changed the media creation chain.
Today we do not talk about just the Internet but about Social Media, Social Software, Networked Information Enviroment, Pervasive Media, User Driven Applications en Participatory Media. The problem with this is not the diversity in name, social media appears in different domains, but the definition and characteristics that occur with this massive change. Everybody is talking about social media but they do not have a working definition nor the characteristics.
