Roots2Share

Roots2Share is an ambitious and innovative programme initiated by two Dutch and two Greenlandic museums. Digital heritage repatriation is a key word in this international collaborative project. An active participation of both Dutch and Greenlandic population will be of great importance. During the project participants from both countries will be confronted by the photo collection of the former Dutch curator Gerti Nooter. His impressive collection of more than 4000 images is the output of long-lasting and enthusiastic field work on Greenland back in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
The four museums will cooperate by taking Nooter’s collection back to the source, back to Greenland. Several exhibitions and activities will be developed int he Netherlands and Greenland. An experimental heritage forum dedicated to ‘digitial storytelling’ and debate will be launched on this website.
Part of the heritage forum will be building upon the experience and application from the PACE project and its website www.ikweetwatditis.nl.
